Who we are

We at Topline Murtaghs strive to offer our customers the best value for money and excellent service across a wide range of home and garden products.
Now 130 years in business, we aim to deliver these objectives throughout our two stores. Each store is staffed by friendly, knowledgeable people whose goal it is to help you find the perfect solution for your home maintenance projects.

What we do

Our retail business is built around offering great value and practical advice in areas such as paint, DIY, gardening, house wares, and home heating solutions. We have developed our business through building long standing relationships with customers in our local communities, in both Meath and Dublin. Topline Murtaghs offers great value in all the top DIY brands such as Dulux, Fleetwood, Colourtrend, Ronseal, Brabantia, Stanley, Bord na Mona, Briggs & Strattan, Westland, and Everbuild.

Our history
                                    
Topline Murtaghs first opened its doors in 1887. It is still family owned and is now headed by Colin Murtagh who represents the fourth generation to lead the business.
Murtaghs started trading in Middle Abbey Street in the late 1800’s as a corn and grain merchants. We later moved to Blackhall Street, Dublin before expanding to Ashbourne, Co. Meath. We now operate two stores, Ashbourne in Meath, and Sandymount in Dublin.

The local community

Topline Murtaghs regularly engages in community support efforts. In November 2013 the Ashbourne store raised almost €2,000 for the local scout troop and over €500 for St. Vincent de Paul. The Sandymount store has raised over €3,000 in the last 18 months for local causes through the FAB Friday sales. In 2017, we also started FAB FRIDAY in Ashbourne and have raised money for charities such as the Irish Deaf Society, Ashbourne Meals on Wheels and Temple Street.

The Topline group

Topline Murtaghs’ values have been strengthened through our partnership with Topline. This national group supports the core activities of independent hardware stores in areas such as buying, marketing and store standards. It is through this partnership that Topline Murtaghs and other stores like it have elevated customer service levels to new highs while driving prices to new lows.
