Question 1. Can you describe your business?
Accountants & Recruitment Consultants
Question 2. What are the advantages of being located in Meath?
Meath is a thriving business county with many well established, well run, businesses. It’s proximity to Dublin has helped it grow, but Meath’s towns have mainatined their community spirit, making it a nicer place to work.
Question 3. How long have you been located/operating in Meath?
The Accountancy Practice has been here for 40 years, initially operating as Marsh & Co, it merged with Mackey & Co. in the late 1980’s to become Marsh Mackey, working with a broad range of clients from all sectors, including, Wholesale, Retail, Engineering, Hospitality, Farming and the Professions. The recruitment business was launched in 1998 and having been in business for 20 years continues to enjoy a strong relationship with it’s clients, primarily throughout the North East, recruiting mostly Office & Accounts personnel for the public and private sectors.
Question 4. Why do your customers choose to do business with you?
Quality of service, we care about our clients, all of our staff go above and beyond to ensure clients needs are met. This is borne out by the fact that the majority of our clients represent repeat business and we believe this to be an endorsement of our customer service.
Question 5. Have you undergone any changes in the last year?
There have been a number of challenges in the past year, happily one of those was managing an expansion of the business and the addition of two new members of staff, a payroll specialist to boost our expertise in anticipation of PAYE Modernisation, and another Recruitment Consultant to handle increased business.
Question 6. Have you any future developments in the pipeline?
On the Accountancy side we have developed a specialist Forensic Accounting department, we believe that this will be a growth area for us, particularly in regard to Family Law and Insurance matters. On the Recruitment side we are constantly upskilling the staff to ensure our quality of service remains consistant ; our Company Director, UCD Grad, Donna Farrell recently completed a Diploma in Adult Psychology and we encourage our staff to continue to grow, with Lauren adding to her qualifications completing the Certificate in Recruitment Practice with the National Recruitment Confederation, and she will build on this progressing to the Degree in Recruitment through Skillsnet.
Question 7. Do you have anything you would like us to promote on your behalf?
Marsh Mackey Recruitment has, for the past two years in a row, been shortlisted for the best small agency in Ireland at the National Recruitment Federation awards. As a small regional agency to be shortlisted by our peers is recognition that our customer service standards remain consistantly high.
Question 8. How do you add value to your customers wants and needs?
We will always come back to quality of service, whether it be in accounts preparation, accurate and efficient tax planning or the search and selection process through which the Recruitment Business sources suitably qualified and motivated permanent and temporary staff. If you work with us, we’ll get it done right. Quality candidates for Quality clients!
Question 9. Any advice for new businesses starting up?
Listen to your clients/customers and understand their needs first. Value your work, if you don’t, nobody else will. As you grow, ensure that you do the basics well, be true to yourself and your clients.
