Meath Business Owners Network meet at Chamber House

Last Friday the 21st of April, the Meath Business Owners network met at Meath Chamber HQ on Church Hill in Navan. This month members spotlight was on Mark Sheehan of 'Web Makers and Socially'. The meeting was chaired by Paula McCaul of County Meath Chamber

The meeting started with informal networking as business owners arrived at Chamber House. The networking aspect of the monthly meetings proves very beneficial to business owners who can connect with other like-minded attendees on the morning.

The meeting began with everyone introducing themselves and their business. In attendance was Tadgh Conway, Cameraman, Trainer and Photographer, John Farrell and Ciaran Lydon from Lydon Farrelly Property, Ronan and Stephen from Permanent TSB, Martin Crawford of Crawfords Newsround, Lisa Doyle, IPS Employment Specialist, Liz from Luna Media, Helen from Back Office Marketing, June from BMS Accounting, Niall from Fitzpatrick Lab Supplies, Neil Cunningham Professional Signwriter, Leanne Lynch- Counselling and Psychotherapy, Rosemary who is starting her own Life Coaching Business, Damien from Ambet Compliance and Helma who is a management accountant.  

Mark Sheehan began his presentation with giving the group an insight into his background. Mark is Founder and CEO of Webmakers and Socially based in Navan. The company provide digital marketing services for all businesses across Ireland including web design, social media, newsletters and more. Mark went through the '7 habits of successful website' and gave examples on how everyone in business can help grow and improve their own online presence. Paula then welcomed Lisa Doyle- an IPS Employment Specialist at HSE/National Learning Network, who gave a presentation on Individual work placements for people with mental health issues in businesses. Lisa spoke of the benefits for the employer on working with individuals through this scheme. There are many supports available for both parties and employers find that their workforce can gain higher innovation, an improved reputation, and increased profits.  

Attendees business cards were paired off for networking purposes. Great connections were made on the day and Paula welcomed anyone who was attending for the first time.

To finish the monthly MBON, Paula announced the next monthly meeting which will be held on the 19th of May at Headfort Golf Club.  The Chambers Annual Golf Classic takes place later the same day.
