Navan is celebrating having been awarded the prestigious Purple Flag accreditation for its evening and night time economy for the 3rd year in a row.  Navan is the only town in Meath accredited with the Purple Flag in recognition of its vibrant, safe evening and night time economy. Similar to the Blue Flag for beaches, the award aims to raise the standard and broaden the appeal of town and city centre’s between the hours of 5.00pm and 5.00am.

The campaign for the flag was supported by County Meath Chamber and Meath County Council succeeding after an 11 month campaign. Areas awarded the Purple Flag are recognised for a vibrant and diverse mix of dining, entertainment and culture while promoting the safety and wellbeing of visitors and local residents.

Purple Flag towns and cities benefit from more visitors, lower crime and anti-social behaviour, and improved perceptions.
