THE RISE & RISE OF ATHBOY/RATH CHAIRN

County Meath Chamber brings its February Business Lunch to The Darnley Lodge Hotel Athboy in recognition and celebration of the Athboy Hub's Silver Award at the All Ireland Community & Council Awards for Best Community Based Initiative.  This award was granted to Athboy Hub in recognition of its community-based initiative and how it has positively impacted and improved the lives of those in the surrounding area.

  • You will hear from David Gilroy Chairperson of Athboy Hub about the power of community and how cross sectoral partnership can reap rewards for everyone.  You will also learn more about two major cultural events scheduled for Athboy in 2019 and better understand what you can do in your business to ensure you dont miss out!
  • In July 2019 Athboy will host the Comhaltas Leinster Fleadh 8th-14th July. The festival is expected to attract up to 30,000 visitors to this area of County Meath.  Find out more about how to be 'Fleadh Ready' to ensure you reap the economic benefits from the four day event.
  • The first Samhain fires were lit on the Hill of Tlachtga over 3,000 years ago and the people of Athboy carefully preserve and reenact this Samhain tradition annually.  In 2018 a new festival was developed.  Hear more about the future plans of The Flame of Samhain Festival and how this modern re-enactment of the ancient Halloween Tradition will dovetail with Failte Ireland's plans to invest €2 million to attract thousands of visitors to Ireland for Halloween.

Meath Chamber Business Lunch is hosted by County Meath Chamber on the last Thursday of every month form 12.30-2.00pm.  Light lunch served from 12.30pm.  Guest speaker begins at 1.00pm and finishes at 1.45am. These events are FREE to members of County Meath Chamber.  Non members of Meath Chamber are welcome to attend two networking events before joining the Chamber.
