What’s the Opportunity?

We currently have an opening for a Technical Team Lead to join our successful and growing business. You will report to the Site Manager and manage all aspects of a residence service contract across a large, active campus. The purpose of this role is to manage the maintenance team and third-party contractors and liaise with client management representatives daily.

Reporting to Facilities Manager

Direct Reports:

Between 7 to 14 technicians (qualified technicians and apprentices) 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of multi-skilled operatives, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Prioritise and allocate tasks based on urgency, skillset, and resource availability
  • Oversee the scheduling and coordination of repairs, preventative maintenance, and additional works
  • Maintain a forward–thinking approach by identifying potential repair and maintenance opportunities during quieter periods
  • Coordinate with the team and third–party contractors to schedule non–urgent or preventative work when service demands are low, ensuring continuous productivity and optimal resource use
  • Anticipate high demand times and plan for additional support needed to maintain service quality during this time
  • Monitor stock levels and manage inventory, ensuring all necessary parts and tools are available
  • Order parts, materials, and equipment as needed, maintaining relationships with suppliers
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure that completed works meet the required standards
  • Liaise with third-party contractors, ensuring that their work is carried out safely and efficiently. Accompany them on-site as necessary
  • Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for all work carried out
  • Maintain accurate records of completed tasks, costs, and performance metrics for reporting purposes
  • Plan and lead additional projects, ensuring timely completion

Skills / Experience / Qualifications Required:

  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar supervisory or leadership role within maintenance or facilities management
  • A qualification if maintenance or facilities management is desirable but not essential
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing) and general maintenance tasks
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
  • Experience in stock management and procurement
  • Familiarity with RAMS and health and safety regulations
  • Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with clients, team members, and third-party contractors
  • Experience in using Helpdesk software and Microsoft Office
  • Team leadership qualities and personal development skills

  • Fully PC literacy and experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Office Project, and Business Management platforms
  • The role requires an individual with a customer focus, proactive attitude, and technical strengths, combined with an ability to communicate effectively under constant pressure with a multitude of stakeholders

Salary:

Starting at €45,000 depending on experience
