Our client an international FMCG company requires a Depot Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Overall depot Operational responsibility
Responsible for managing staff, recruitment, induction plan, performance management, staff/driver retention & Health & Safety.
Get involved in route planning and organisational skills to improve work flows to reduce operational overheads.
Improve depots standards in general (Cleanliness, Fleet standards)
Encourage, develop and train employees, to increase personal performance levels and maintain team values
Responsible for over-all depots stocks {internal and External storage} and Stock shrinkage, stock accuracy, weekly stock reconciliations with external warehouses and periodic stocktakes
Ability to adapt to individual and operational changes in a diverse and fast-paced organisation.
Should be open to new ideas to improve process and procedures.
Effectively communicate all operational procedural changes to all depot employees in a timely and prompt manner.
Responsible for depot KPI’s(Improving customer service, on time in full, delivered cost per case, monitor Errors KPIs, % load fill’s, Failed Deliveries).
Overseeing efficiency and productivity within daily & weekly workloads, route plans and over all depot performance.
• Work closely with the rest of the departments and sales to improve customer service
• Improve customer service levels by making sure the deliveries are on time/full. Deal with and resolve enquiries and/or complaints from customers in a courteous, professional and knowledgeable manner along.
• Work with head office teams to ensure standards in purchasing, depot MHE, contracts, insurance etc.
• Take responsibility for Health & Safety, ensuring full compliance and pro-actively managing risk by working in close collaboration with Operations Director and H&S Manager. The goal being an industry-leading environment for our employees.
• Responsible for communication of issues/information to up line management e.g. transport, delivery schedules, warehouse accuracy or general warehouse queries
• Working very closely with sales team and other departments within the business.
The post holder should have (or complete the requirements within 6 months of acceptance)
· Full FLT License (Reach & Counterbalance)
· Minimum Class 2 HGV License
· First Aid – Level 2
