National Ambulance Services

National Ambulance Services

The National Ambulance Service (NAS) provides emergency and intermediate care services across the Republic of Ireland as part of the Health Service Executive (HSE). Answering over 1,200 calls a day and operating a fleet of ambulances and other vehicles from over 100 locations, the NAS responds to calls for emergency medical assistance, provides patient transport, and works with partners like the  Fire Service, An Garda Siochana, Community First Responders, the Coast Guard, and the Irish Air Corps. Their mission is to deliver patient-centred, high-quality care from the moment a call is received through to hospital handover. The service is continually evolving to become a mobile medical service with a variety of new specialist roles.
