Question 1. Can you describe your business?
Navan Racecourse is widely recognised as one of the top horse racing courses in the country. With an attendance of over 30,000 each year, the racecourse boasts some of the best racing in the country with the highlight being the Navan Racing Festival in November that features the Bar One Racing Troytown Chase. Like any other sports venue, the racecourse also attracts a significant corporate or group attendance enjoying our hospitality in our racecourse restaurants.
Question 2. What are the advantages of being located in Meath?
With excellent transport infrastructure and being next to Dublin and within a short commute of some of our important northern markets, Meath’s geographic location provides huge opportunities for the racecourse to access significant populations hubs. Within the county itself, Meath own towns offers large populations bases to target and with more and more businesses choosing Meath a base the opportunity to work with a growing corporate marketing is another definite advantage.
Question 3. How long have you been located/operating in Meath?
Horse racing has taken place in Navan Racecourse since 1921.
Question 4. Why did you join the County Meath Chamber?
Navan Racecourse is keen to work with and support other businesses in the Meath area. Sharing experiences and learning from other businesses is an excellent way of bringing new ideas and innovating to our own business.
Question 5. Do you have anything you would like us to promote on your behalf?
The Navan Racing Festival in November and our Christmas Party Racedays in December are two important months for us that the Chamber could help promote.
Question 6. Have you any future developments in the pipeline?
Navan Racing Festival is the new event. We would also be interested in exploring the idea of the Meath Chamber social day at the races. Other chambers around the country have been involved in their local track.
Question 7. How do you add value to your customers wants and needs?
Everything we do at Navan Racecourse is about the customer and ensuring the customer experience on a raceday is positive. Value is to the fore of our thinking with our customers having access to discounted admission tickets when purchased in advance, heavily discounted admission and hospitality bundles and special kids priced meals. Combining that value approach with our approach of “more than just a raceday” with added raceday experiences such as family friendly raceday activities, live music at each race meeting etc, the racecourse aims to build a loyal returning customer base.
