County Meath Chamber Elects First Female President, Niamh Giffney
Managing Director of DNG Royal County to Lead Chamber for Two-Year Term

County Meath Chamber is proud to announce the appointment of Niamh Giffney, Managing Director of DNG Royal County, as its newly elected President. Niamh takes up the role following the completion of a two-year term by Michael Hughes, owner of Stockhouse Restaurant Trim, who will remain on as a valued member of the Chamber’s executive board.

Niamh becomes the first female President in the Chamber’s history, marking a progressive and exciting chapter for the organisation. A highly experienced and multi-skilled estate agent, she brings extensive knowledge of property and business management, combined with a deep commitment to local enterprise.

Niamh currently serves on the National Council of the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers (IPAV) having previusly held the position of Chairperson of the IPAV Young Professionals Network for six years, a testament to her recognised leadership and active contribution to the property industry at a national level.  

A member of County Meath Chamber’s Executive Committee since 2022, Niamh has played a key role in driving Chamber initiatives, lobbying for regional development, and contributing meaningfully to member engagement and strategy.

Commenting on her election, Niamh said:

“I am honoured and delighted to take on the role of President, particularly as the first woman to hold this position in County Meath Chamber’s history. As I take on this role, I do so with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility. Meath is a county rich in enterprise, innovation, and community spirit, and I am excited to work alongside Chamber members to strengthen our local business network, advocate for the needs of businesses and create opportunities for growth and collaboration.

Paula McCaul, CEO of County Meath Chamber, welcomed the appointment:

Niamh has been a committed and respected member of the Chamber board for many years, bringing with her a wealth of experience. I wish her every success in her new role and look forward to working together to deliver a strong and ambitious agenda for our members and the wider region.

Ms McCaul also extended sincere thanks to outgoing President Michael Hughes owner of The Stockhouse Restaurant for his dedication and steady leadership during his term which have helped lay the foundations for continued momentum in 2025 and beyond.
