County Meath Chamber brought its first Chamber Business Lunch for 2019 to The Darnley Lodge Hotel Athboy on Thursday last, 28th February in recognition and celebration of the Athboy Hub's Silver Award at the All Ireland Community & Council Awards for Best Community Based Initiative. This award was granted to Athboy Hub in recognition of its community-based initiative and how it has positively impacted and improved the lives of those in the surrounding area.
The event which was sponsored by Permanent TSB was very well attended and focused primarily on 'The Power of Partnership' examining how collaboration and structured engagement can reap rewards for business community and across all sectors.
Paula McCaul CE of County Meath Chamber "It is my priviledge to host our February Chamber Business Lunch in Athboy. I would like to congratulate the Athboy/Rathcairn communty on its cross sectoral collaboration and ongoing engagement with key stakeholders which has secured two major cultural festivals for the region with an expected footfall of 50,000 people. The benefit to business in hosting the Comhaltas Leinster Fleadh in July and Failte Ireland's Samhain Celebrations in October is enormous and I would encourage the business community of Athboy to engage with County Meath Chamber who are available to connect, support and represent business in any way it can. The Athboy Hub which was established almost four years ago has clearly demonstrated what can achieved when all sides pull together"
Thank you to The Darnley Lodge Hotel for hosting the business lunch.
Thank you to Cllr. David GIlroy & Kevin Stewart DOS MCC for inputting as guest speakers.
Thank you to the business, voluntary, cultural, sporting and communty sectors of Athboy for attending.
