Meath Business Owners Network meet at Chamber House

Last Friday, the 20th of October, the Meath Business Owners network met at Meath Chamber headquarters on Church Hill in Navan. This month members spotlight was on Charles Cosgrave of The Village Vets. Their mission is to make lives better through excellence in veterinary care while truly caring for the best interests of their patients, customers and colleagues. The meeting was chaired by Raymond Gibbons of BMS accounting.

The Meath Business Owners Network starts with informal networking as business owners arrive at Chamber House. The networking aspect of the monthly meetings proves very beneficial to business owners who can connect with other like-minded attendees on the morning.

The meeting began with everyone introducing themselves and their business.

Raymond started the meeting by introducing the guest speaker of the morning Charles Cosgrave. The Village Vets have 18 practices and employ 260 people across Dublin, Meath and Wicklow. They also have the largest Pet Crematorium in Ireland. Charles is one of 3 finalists from Meath in the EY entrepreneur of the year.

Charles explained how the Village Vets came to be after returning home from the UK. The business has grown and grown over the years with their headquarters in Dunboyne. They are one of only 3 vet practices in the world using AI in veterinary for diagnostics tests. “We are trying to continuously innovate in our practices in order to give the very best care to our clients”

Charles has no intention of slowing down either with further expansion on the cards into urban areas. They are also hoping to release a new client engagement app.

Mary Darcy from Meath County Council brought attendees through the Meath Climate Action plan for 2024-2029. Mary explained the key objectives of the plan and the main goals of Meath County Council within the plan. You can find more information on Meath.ie. Lorna Cooney of Meath Local Enterprise Office then went through some green supports that are now available for businesses in Meath. These supports provide free programmes to help your business become more sustainable for the future. Find more information on www.localenterprise.ie/meath
