Meath Business Owners Network meet at Chamber House
Last Friday the 23rd of June, the Meath Business Owners network met at Meath Chamber HQ on Church Hill in Navan. This month members spotlight was on Neil Skeffington, CEO of Novelplast in Gibbstown. The meeting was chaired by Paula McCaul of County Meath Chamber.
The Meath Business Owners Network starts with informal networking as business owners arrive at Chamber House. The networking aspect of the monthly meetings proves very beneficial to business owners who can connect with other like-minded attendees on the morning.
The meeting began with everyone introducing themselves and their business. In attendance was Aubrey Martin, Photographer, Niall from Fitzpatrick Lab Supplies, Caroline for World Pay, Helen from Back Office Marketing, Michael from Sweeney Computer Services, Clare O’Connor- Business Mentor, Jan Carroll from Fortify Institute, Emma Jane Clarke from Martinstown Lodge, Myriam Doyle from Mimi Toys, Paula and Eileen from Lus Aromatherapy, Mark Sheehan from Webmakers and Socially, Sarah Dallas from Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Spa, Niamh Giffney from DNG Royal and Glebe from Navan PC.
Paula welcomed Neil Skeffington from Novelplast to the meeting and asked him to tell the group about himself and his company. Neil studied in Belfast and after working with the Quinn group for many years he moved to Oman. He returned to Ireland in 2015 and Novelplast started production in 2019. Novelplast is a plastics manufacturing company that is passionate about the state of the environment and improving the sustainability of the plastics industry through their work. Novelplast has currently working with manufacturing firms in Europe in PET (polyethylene terephthalate). They currently employ over 50 staff at their headquarters in Gibbstown.
Paula congratulated Neil on reaching the final of the EY Entrepreneur of the year in the international category. Neil joins just 7 other finalists in this category. EY Entrepreneur of The Year honours founders, CEOs and leaders who demonstrate excellence in areas such as innovation, financial performance, social responsibility and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
When asked what advice he would give to other Meath Chamber members, Neil responded with one word- resilience. “There will be bad days as well as good ones. Keep going and if you are having a bad day, try not to bring that mood into the office with you. Remember that people invest in you- not your business”.
To finish the monthly MBON, Paula announced the next monthly meeting which will be held on the 21st of July. July’s meet up will be held at the Battle of the Boyne site for a walk and a coffee. If you would like to be included, please book your place on www.countymeathchamber.ie
