Official Launch of the County Meath Apprenticeship Expo
County Meath Apprenticeship Expo - Connecting Employers, National Agencies & Training Providers with Candidates wishing to Plan a Career in the Mid East.
Following from its highly successful Careers Expo, Meath Chamber will be hosting an Apprenticeship Expo in the Knightsbrook Hotel Trim on February 25th (9.30am-3.00pm). With 50+ exhibitors, the event will showcase opportunities to ‘Earn while You Learn’, connecting candidates directly with key employers. There will also be one-to-one supports available to those who wish to ‘Plan a Career in Meath’. The Meath Apprenticeship Expo will highlight the multiple varied apprenticeship opportunities available… from the traditional trades to the more recent additions including Financial Services, Hospitality, Sales & Retail, Hairy & Beauty, Logistics, ICT, Biopharmachem.
“Once again Meath Chamber are responding to a demand from our members.” stated Paula McCaul CEO Meath Chamber. ”In doing so, we have identified a need to connect key employers and apprenticeship training bodies with potential applicants. We wish to open young people’s minds to the ever increasing apprenticeship options. It is a one stop shop with everything you need to know about apprenticeships under the one roof. Don’t miss out! We are delighted to have Meath County Council as a major supporter and we are working in close cooperation with the Regional Skills Centre, Louth Meath ETB, Dundalk IT and various other key employers across the region.
A strong feature of the expo will be practical demonstrations by experienced tutors. This will provide a realistic feel for the skills involved in many of the apprenticeships on offer. Schools from across the county and beyond have registered to attend and the expo is open to everyone and we extend a special welcome to parents who have a special role in assisting their children to plan their career. Well over 1000 participants have already registered.
Speaking at the launch of the Expo, Meath Co Co Chief Executive Jackie Maguire said “We are delighted to support this initiative by County Meath Chamber. As the economy reaches full employment, we will be faced increasingly with a shortage of skilled, well-trained employees who are vital for the continued growth of the economy. We have excellent training facilities here in the North East and it is vital that our young people are fully aware of the many apprenticeship opportunities.”
The Apprenticeship Expo runs from 9.30 am to 3pm in Knightsbrook Hotel. Open to ALL and it is FREE to register on www.countymeathchamber.ie.
