Meath Business Owners Network meet at Chamber House
Last Friday, the 19th of April, the Meath Business Owners network met at Meath Chamber headquarters on Church Hill in Navan. This month members spotlight was Kelly- Ann Quinn from Life Planning. Kelly-Ann was in to meet the network and discuss "Auto Enrollment & what it means for Irish employers. The meeting was chaired once again by Raymond Gibbons of BMS accounting. The Meath Business Owners Network is a partnership between County Meath Chamber and is sponsored by PTSB.
The Meath Business Owners Network starts with informal networking as business owners arrive at Chamber House. The networking aspect of the monthly meetings proves very beneficial to business owners who can connect with other like-minded attendees on the morning.
The meeting began with everyone introducing themselves and their business. In attendance was Anne and Siobhan from Crannog Roofing, June and Pam from BMS Accounting, Bernard from Core Ireland, Ronan from PTSB, Cormac from BAM Media, Mark from Web Makers, Sinead from People Forward, David from Pension Freedom, Emma Jane Clarke from Martinstown Lodge, Jenny and Trish from Meath Chamber and Helen from Back Office Marketing.
Raymond started the meeting by introducing the Kelly Anne Quinn from Life Planning. Kelly-Anne Quinn founded Life Planning and has over 25 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry. With her experience within the financial planning sector, Kelly-Anne brings a wealth of knowledge across a wide range of services. Kelly-Anne is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Kelly Anne believes in client-focused financial planning and works with individuals to create holistic, tailored financial plans that align with each client’s values and goals.
Kelly-Anne prepared a presentation for all attendees on the upcoming pension Auto Enrolment Scheme. Auto-enrolment is a new pension savings scheme for certain employees who are not paying into a pension. Kelly-Anne explained what obligations employers have now versus their obligations once the Auto-enrolment comes into effect. Some employers may find it benefits their employee’s more to have a private pension, but it is very important that all employee’s know what’s coming down the line.
For the moment, Kelly-Anne recommends that all employers should be researching and gathering information to be ready for this change when it comes.
To finish the monthly MBON, Trish announced the location for the May MBON. On the 24th of May, the network will hold its annual Golf Classic at Kileen Castle and on the 21st of June at Elmgrove Farm in Gormanston. If you would like to be included, please contact info@meathchamber.ie.
