The first female chief executive officer of Meath County Council, Jackie Maguire and the chief officer of Age Friendly Ireland, Catherine McGuigan, will be sharing ‘Lessons from our Leaders,’ at the Meath Women in Biz + Tech Network’s summer event on June 11th. These quarterly network meetings feature on-stage interviews with women from across the world of business who share their experiences and insights with the audience.
“Meath women have been outstanding leaders and we will get to hear from two of the finest at our summer Meath WIB+T networking event,” said Paula McCaul, County Meath Chamber.
“We are really delighted that Jackie Maguire, who in many ways has championed what women can achieve in the public sector, is joining us. She was the chief executive of Meath County Council for ten years and we will hear about her achievements, her challenges and what lessons she has to share,” she added.
The second guest is Catherine McGuigan, Chief Officer of Age Friendly Ireland, a national shared service, hosted by Meath County Council and operates nationally. Paula said, “Catherine's family business background has engrained in her the importance of working togther and community support. In her current role as CE of Age Friendly Ireland Catherine engages with key leaders across civil, public, private, community and voluntary sectors across Ireland. This leader has a great story to tell and we look forward to bringing it to our WIB+T network on June 11th".
Aoife Fegan, Senior Enterprise Development Officer, Meath LEO said, “self-belief can be elusive and by hearing about the achievements of other women we can learn to recognise those abilities in ourselves.”
“We continue to see growth in the number of women starting businesses in Meath and coming to the Local Enterprise Office to avail of mentoring, training courses, business supports and really practical advice. We hope the experiences and careers of both guests will resonate with them too and inspire them to continue to believe and invest in themselves.”
Specific time is allocated for networking before and after a three course lunch in the luxurious surroundings of the award winning The Station House Hotel in Kilmessan, which joined Ireland’s Blue Book earlier this year.
The Women in Biz +Tech Network is a collaboration between County Meath Chamber and Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Meath and the MC who chats on stage to the guests is Elaine Keogh of Solstice Media Ltd.
The network is sponsored by Meta who have been part of the business community in Meath since breaking ground on their Clonee Data Centre here in 2016. They have sponsored the network since 2020 as part of their commitment to supporting small businesses to thrive in Meath.
