International Women’s Day is the focal point for the first event this year of the Meath Women in Biz & Tech Network.

A key day in the calendar, it promises inspiring speakers, network building and, because it is in The Station House Hotel, Kilmessan, a delightful three course lunch in luxurious surroundings is provided.

“We are delighted that Minister Helen McEntee, who has led the way for women in her political career, is able to join us as we mark International Women’s Day 2024,” said Paula McCaul, Chief Executive Officer, County Meath Chamber.

WIB+T is a collaboration between County Meath Chamber and the Local Enterprise Office in Meath and it is sponsored by Meta.

International Women’s Day, the 8th March, also marks the end of Local Enterprise Week where every day offers the opportunity to avail of expert advice, workshops or gatherings.

“This year International Women’s Day also marks the final day of Local Enterprise Week.  It is a particularly busy week when we see lots of women taking part in events.  Some are well established in their business, others are checking out supports we can provide to start-ups and the WIB+T is a great way for them, and us, to mark the end of the week,” said Lorna Cooney, Senior Enterprise Office, Meath Local Enterprise Office.

Paula explained that, “the theme for this event is Inspire Inclusion and we are delighted that one of our other guests is Eva Burke from Neurodiversity Navan. After lunch we will hear from Sinead Smith, CEO of Meath Women’s Refuge and Support Services and we will conclude with professional organisers Kim & Lynn from A Sorted Affair.”

The guests will chat to MC Elaine Keogh, co-founder of Solstice Media Ltd and former journalist/broadcaster.

Meta have been part of the community in Meath since breaking ground on their Clonee Data Centre here in 2016. They have sponsored the network since 2020 as part of their commitment to diversity and supporting small businesses to thrive.

The WIB+T network has four events spread throughout the year. Over one hundred women were at last year’s International Women’s Day  and just like then, they will have the chance to take home a prize or two this year.

It starts at 12, lunch is at 1 and concludes at 3pm.  Some seats are still available by contacting Trish at County Meath Chamber 046 9046060
